Question of the Week
I'm getting dumber by the minute. The construction fumes are certainly killing brain cells. The dust is making my skin itch. The debris is threatening to require a tetnus shot. So when this question was posed on the radio yesterday, my answer was simple:
If you could wave your hand and control anything, what would it be?

Okay, I'm going to kick this off by saying that choosing just one thing is hard. We control freaks want to control EVERYTHING!!! But, if I could control one thing with a wave of my magic hand, it would be a clean house. I'd love it if my house could be clean with just a flick of my wrist. Someday...someday
Sorry I can't just answer with one thing. I know control freak. Jennifer nailed it on the head that I would like to control everything, but I would agree for everyday things I would LOVE to control having a clean house!!!!! But for long term projects I would also LOVE to have my house in Oregon COMPLETE. Yes, trim work, touch up painting done, drawer handles, the list could go on :)

Of course if we were beauty queens...I mean, scholarship pageant contestants...we'd say world peace. But isn't it funny how our desires are so much simpler. A clean house. A complete to-do list. Ahhh, the joy of it.
I'm a little surprised that with 2 kids each, neither of you said you would want to control your kids. Didn't one of yours just try to close the other in the fridge Jenn? :)
I know. I did think about controlling them, but then, I wouldn't have any funny stories to retell...and being able to control the house being clean is controlling them...in a way...
I would agree with Jenn. If someone were to control the clean house then I would have more time to control the wild kids. Plus I too love the funny stories that come with the wild kids. Beth
If I could wave my magic hand, I would want my boxes unpacked. We moved in our house almost three years ago, mind you our stuff moved in and we hit the road. Now on our days off when we get up to CT from NYC, we just see our boxes all packed with all sorts of stuff from our entire lives...and it's daunting to think about unpacking, not to mention I am not sure where it is all supposed to go. The only other thing I can think of is to control pedestrian tourist traffic on the sidewalks of NYC! It always seems to hinder us natives from getting where we need to go. Abra
It is hard to choose just one...and the clean house idea is very tempting. But I'm going to have to go for the "control my children" answer. Especially today when they are bored and fighting and making me feel tense all over! ;-)
OH MY GOSH!!! I mean, I've heard you describe the remodel and had a picture in my mind...but seeing the picture...I REALLY don't know how you are doing it. And, that is your bedroom - your sanctuary?!?! Wowzers...well, for now it is the construction zone and soon enough it will be the sanctuary again! Yippee...patience is a virture, right?!?

It's worse than I thought...that's the KITCHEN!!!!
I would wave my wand and somehow make the amount of money in my bank account limitless. With that, I could accomplish almost EVERY other goal I've ever had. Get all the degrees my heart desires, which would help me (hopefully) with my career... if not, then I could just BUY a broadway theatre or film company! :) I'd give a buttload to cancer research to guarantee a cure, and I'd pay like EVERY scientist EVER to work towards that goal. There are a lot of things I'd like to cure (autism, multiple sclerosis, AIDS, world hunger, to name a few), other than cancer, but cancer's my first priority, don't ya know. AND, I'd buy an awesome loft in NYC and a beach house in SoCal. Man, I love spending money I don't have!! Becci :)
Oh my gosh...I can't believe I mistook the bedroom for the kitchen...If I could wave my magic wand it would be for you to have your remodel done. I can't even imagine! :-)
