Question of the Week
The interns have landed at work! And boy do they look young. Fortunately the intern in my area is a MBA student who worked for 7 years between undergrad and grad school so he's not as young as the rest of them. But I swear that the interns get younger and younger each year. I mean, I know I'm not getting older so they must be getting younger, right?
The other day at work, we were talking about how the age gap is widening due to technology. These college students are digital natives whereas we are digital immigrants. They don't hesitate to share every detail of their lives with the world through myspace or facebook. Multi-tasking is no problem as they are used to managing multiple IM's and computer games and text messaging simultaneously.
Having a blog keeps me somewhat in touch with the digital world. I'm not sure I'm ready for myspace. It looks like a lot of work frankly. But I've been thinking about giving it a shot. Just as a way to connect myself to the next generation. You know, keep me young and in touch...
In that spirit, here's the question of the week:

well... i AM young, so i don't need anything to "stay" young... he he he. but, you DEFINITELY need to join myspace. it's NO work... it's the same amount of work as this blog. once you get everything set up, it's a breeze!! i swear! and i bet you'll find a lot of your peeps on there!!
um... that was from me, Becci... i always forget that i'm leaving these anonymously!
Not right now, but typically I play soccer and run to stay young. Maybe that is why I am feeling so old lately. But I did get carded yesterday, so at least I still look young. Beth
I try to play with the kids toys. Some of the toys these kids have just amaze me. I cant quite get the hang of video games, and the transformers are alot different than when I was a kid. Or I go buy lottery ticket. They card me every time!

Hi Lori,
I was feeling bone tired the other day so I put on a bikini, grabbed an US magazine and a sugary pop, lathered up in a serious amount of spf 4 sunscreen so I could sun bathe and sweat in the sun....I felt like a teenager again!! It was great! I felt younger, tanner, caffeinated, and caught up on my gossip all in 2 hours! Then the kids woke up :(
LOL,
Katie
Playing with the kids always helps me to feel younger. I also really enjoy getting outside for any kind of exercise. (gardening, walking, etc.) Hope all is well for you and Jeff!

I hear ya sista...the new college grads we hired seem so young and of course the recently discovered gray hairs aren't making me feel any younger! Hmmm...what do I do to feel/stay young...for me, the exercise thing works. That and sitting on the floor playing video games from the good ole' days. Ms. Pac Man, Galaga, Astroids...of course the big difference is now that is all done while enjoying a glass of wine after the kids have gone to bed. :-)
Gosh, I wish I had an answer! I like to keep moving, but some days I just feel like my age has caught up with me! I guess living in NYC keeps you young as you walk everywhere and the city is always alive! I however, prefer the day off up at our house in CT where we get to do yard work, hear the birds, and sit out on our patio having a BBQ, it melts all the tired thoughts from my mind.
