Stupid Murphy and his stupid laws

That darn Murphy, he's done it again. Why is it that Ian falls a million times a day but ONLY damages his face on picture day?

He was sitting right in front of me, playing on his knees when he leaned forward and sort of dribbled down the Leap Start table in slow motion. When I picked him up, I saw a drip of blood tinged drool and the start of a fat lip. How on earth could that much damage occur when he was less than a foot off the floor? Sitting mere inches in front of me? Surrounded by fluffy pillows atop a cushy rug? LESS THAN TWO HOURS BEFORE OUR PHOTO SESSION? It can only be Murphy and his stupid laws.

Then the photographer reminded me that we have this fancy new invention called Photoshop. So there will be no official record of my parental negligence combined with Ian's baby clumsiness.

Uh, except this post. Darn it.

Quammie seems to have a permanent blemish somewhere on his face these days. If it's not a fat lip, it's a bruise on the forehead. As soon as one heals he seems to get another one. It just doesn't end.
It goes the same way with outfits. You get them all dressed up and ready to take some photos and next thing you know they've spilled something on themselves. That's why they invented editing software, right?

It is that "y" chromosome.

We're attempting picture day next weekend. I'm already exhausted just thinking about it.

But let's get to the important stuff. Do we get to see the pictures?

I was sweating quite literally to get him to stop playing with the flower/leaf/etc and smile. The woes of an outdoor setting but well worth it for the natural light! Good thing I wasn't in the pictures, it wasn't pretty...

I'm using one of them for Holiday cards which means I'll get the rights to an electronic copy. So, if you're extra good, I might be able to share.

Hey, my my grandma offered to pay for some studio portraits of me when I was about 2. The day before I fell down her stairs and was sporting a split lip and eyebrow. I still have the scar in my eyebrow and would love to find one of those pictures. There was no photoshop back then, so I just looked like a brawler.

I've got a Murphy's Law too - darn it. Just last Wed. Todd and I planned out the use of our PTO for the rest of the year. I'm running low - but had just enough for the 4 days around the holidays that I was hoping for. After getting our plan together - we both laughed and said, "Now, that's if no one gets sick between now and then!". Well, guess what?!?! On Friday, Ryan came down w/a fever...so Todd stayed home today - me tomorrow...so much for best laid plans! :-)

After 5 days w/a fever, he's heading to the dr - so hopefully we can make him feel better! :-)
