Google me

Have you ever googled yourself? C'mon, admit it. If you haven't yet, now is your chance.

A co-worker recently purchased the url of his full name for a new website because the url with his first & last name is already taken. I too have a fairly common name so I would have the same trouble. In fact, a google search of my name revealed that I could be a singer, a set costumer, shoe boutique owner, one of two television actresses, a romantic suspense writer, a high school English teacher, a police chief, a litigation & employment attorney, a real estate agent and so on. Pretty much anyone except me. I finally found myself on page 19 thanks to a donation we made to the Children's Cancer Association.

With such a common name, I guess I'm doomed to a life of relative obscurity. But there's nothing wrong with that I suppose. So tell me, what does your google search reveal? Which page did you find yourself on?

Apparently, according to my google search: "Traci is the # 694 ranked first name in the United States". Other than that interesting fact, my name is pretty uncommon. The first thing on the list was my facebook link, followed by a list of my past races and my AGD Alumni affiliation(because I was treasurer) - and that's pretty much it. Nothing too fun. OH - and on the people search link it actually list my name AND age...HOW RUDE! :-)

Some of the first page is actually me. But! I'm also a black belt and had a baby while attending Bible college (um, no).

If I use my given name, I didn't bother to look how many pages into I was, but I was the first entry as Mindy, Mostly school stuff but also some things related to our family reunion.

I googled me. But since every Mikalatos in the world is either directly related to me or actually, um, me... I don't have any trouble sorting. Kind of nice, actually.

Okay, so I'm a little late getting to this one, but I thought I'd google for fun anyway. I hadn't ever done it before

It was kind of depressing. I made it to page 7 without "finding myself" - and had gotten to the pages where my name was more of a "middle name" for all the Ariel's, Mimi's, Teresa's, Joi's, Mary's and Tamara's out there.

Really, all the other Celeste McIntyre's had such interesting lives.... well, except for the one with the Elington Home Cemetery Burial Listing. Could be worse I guess.

But it was fun seeing my name as an art teacher in the greater Chicago area, or participating in the NorCal Pirate Festival... or coming in 2nd in a swim relay and the owner of McIntyre pools and spas....and the topper - a coauthor of "Franklin and the Scooter".

Thanks for the suggestion. All this time I thought I had a unique name... now, not so much ;o)
