BTS Traffic

Ahhhhhhhhh! I hate this time of year. When my 8-mile commute suddenly jumps from 15 minutes to a full and torturous 45 minutes. All because kids the future leaders of these United States need an edumkation? Can't they get that book learnin' during off peak hours? Think about it. They could sleep in. (win) And I could drive to work in a reasonable period of time. (win)

The real question is...how, after that glorious 3 month hiatus called summer, do I manage to forget that this is the norm 9 months out of the year?

Stupid traffic.

TD used to have the same problem, he worked on Durham road, right past Tigard High school and then the turn off to the elementary school. He would zip along during the summer, but regular times, it might take him over 30 minutes to go 3 miles.

Isn't it funny how you can completely forget about school-day traffic? It's like how Oregonians seem to forget how to drive when it's raining... IT RAINS 9 MONTHS OUT OF THE YEAR, PEOPLE! "Oh my gosh, what is this wet stuff? The sky is falling! The sky is falling! I should only drive 25mph on the freeway!"

I get accustomed to the school-day traffic, then get a little nervous when it's a holiday and traffic is so much lighter. I start thinking my clock is off and I'm really late to work; then when I realize it's a holiday I wish I was still in school :)
