Yard Sale

Announcing...

Yard Sale
Saturday, July 7th
8am-Noon
Lori's House
(e-mail me for the address/directions)

Let me first say that I hate yard sales. Haggling over pennies. Strangers pawing through your stuff. Disposing of the remaining dregs that nobody wanted. I would much rather donate everything to Goodwill and call it a day.

So why are we doing this? I'm glad you asked. We're making one last fundraising push for Relay for Life. All the money from this yard sale will go to the American Cancer Society! And that makes it all worth the effort.

How can you help? Wow, you're asking all the right questions today!

  • Give us your stuff. Leave a comment or e-mail me and I'll arrange time to pick it up. It's a great opportunity to do some summer cleaning for a worthy cause.
  • Visit us on Saturday. Tell your friends. Cause if you have a yard sale and nobody comes, did you really have a yard sale?

You go girl...I used to feel the same way about yard sales, but now I look at it as one less trip - I set it out and someone takes it away...most of the time I don't even care what they pay for it...just take it away!

Our fraternity alumnae club has done a yard sale every other year and made $600-$1000. A couple of REALLY easy ways to make $$$ at your yard sale (besides selling your junk...I mean treasures) :-) is to bake some things...even buy some breads, cupcakes, brownies and coffee to sell.

The other thing we've done is sell little starter plants - people have absolutely LOVED these.

So, maybe that is another way people could contribute to your yard sale. :-)

Hey sister! Just in time for me to clean out all of my crap...uh, I mean...priceless treasures for my mother-in-law's upcoming visit. I went to a G-sale recently where they had bottled water for sale...they said they were making a killing on it!
